Center for Disease Control and Daycares

I called the doctor. Then I kept calling until their clock said 8:30 and they actually answered the damned phones. I might have been the first person too call because I was being all stalker like. Including dropping Emma off at daycare and only having 15 minutes until they opened so I drove around for a bit before giving up and going home. I actually drove the speed limit in hopes that it would give me something to do instead of parking and waiting which would have been crazy. And I'm not crazy. No really I'm not although I certainly give that impression sometimes with the random mood changes and losing my mind. I had hopes that I could jump in and be seen quickly. This was not to be. The only appointment they have is tomorrow morning and the receptionist asked if this was okay. Seriously? I just told you I'm almost certain I have pink eye and that it's going around my daughter's daycare and probably have some sort of sinus infection as well and you ask if tomorrow is okay? I think this lady was on something. Obviously she heard my disbelief because she offered to take a message, took down my pharmacy 'just in case' and said she would call me once the doctor got my message. Do we think my doctor will give me medication without seeing me? With Dr. Henry it's entirely possible because last time I was there I mentioned the pink eye break out and that Emma has had it twice. Plus I mentioned that my throat was hurting me still from my bought of laryngitis and I was having sinus pain.

My eye is swollen and bloodshot although not quite pink colored yet. It's all weepy and when I woke up was crusted with gunk. My ear also is hurting like a son of a bitch, my throat is sore and my head aches.

The nurse asked if I had a fever and I wanted to reach through the phone and slap her. Completely rational question and a completely bat shit insane way of wanting to respond to it. I however did not turn into pea soup spitting head spinning Exorcist style person and instead answered in a slightly croaky voice that no I do not have a fever but would it be possible to see the nurse practitioner? Apparently I can only see her if Dr. Henry is not in the office. Awesome. So I have gotten home, fed the cats, used the medicine for my tailbone and now I'm waiting impatiently for the phone call. Do you think it'd be possible to play WoW or Sims with a watery sore eye and one good eye? I think I need an eye patch so I can at least be a stylish pirate while having pink eye.

I think the CDC needs to issue an alert on daycares. "Caution! Daycares will take care of your child for you so you may get stuff done, sit at home and not lose your mind or simply just work. In return you will pay them lots of money and get an array of delightful diseases. Please be advised use at your own risk."
